The team are led by manager Zoe Harvey who herself is visually impaired.

Zoe is the only registered female disabled coach within our county FA and alongside this team she and her husband John are also mainstream kids coaches.

Zoe is the only registered female disabled coach within our county FA and alongside the Histon Hornets teams she and her husband John  also coach under the England Para Pathway for under 16s specialising in B1 (blind) football.

Our adult disability and Inclusive team have been with the club now for 2 seasons having moved from CUFC back in 2023.

Last year (2024) the team of coaches expanded their offering to include a dedicated children’s section for players aged 7-16.

The adult team (16+) has around 25 registered players competing in 3 county leagues across 5 divisions.

To date the team have enjoyed lots of success winning 5 league titles,

  • PDFL blue winners 2023/2024 & 2024-2025
  • Suffolk championship winners 2023/2024 & 2024/2025
  • Cambridgeshire county FA blue winners 2024/2025.

They also won the first ever disability element of our very own grassroots tournament in 2024 where we had 12 teams from all over the country competing across 2 divisions.

The team also won the first ever 5 a side Cambridgeshire FA disability cup day in April 2025.

The team formed in 2022 and quickly developed a strong bond with players aged between 16-63 who all qualify to play inclusion football due to either a physical, neurological, mental health or wellbeing additional need.

The teams are led by manager Zoe Harvey who herself is visually impaired and we have a number of qualified coaches.

As well as all of this Zoe is also Cambs FAs disability ambassador.

In Zoe’s role at Cambs FA she supports the growth of both child and adult inclusion and disability specific football for our communities and works alongside many grassroots clubs to support them with this growth.

Zoe herself won the BBC Cambridgeshire ‘make a difference’ award in the together category for all her work in the community which saw her and husband John recognised by a trip to Buckingham Palace where they met Queen Camilla.

Zoe has also won disability pathway coach of the year for our county.

At Histon Hornets we want to showcase how everyone and anyone can get involved in football no matter their age or ability and are delighted to welcome these players to our football family.

We hope that Zoe and her team will continue to develop this style of football across all age ranges in the future for Histon Hornets.

Zoe, the coaches and their players are a massive part of our club supporting at all of our events and helping shape the club to be as inclusive and welcoming to all of our community.
